Greenly Grove Compact, Standard, and Tall vertical hydroponic tower systems side by side

Which Greenly Grove Grow System Is Right for You?

Which Greenly Grove Grow System Is Right for You?

One of the most common questions I get is: "Which tower should I start with?"

It's a fair question — and one I spent a lot of time thinking about before launching Greenly Grove. When I was sourcing the system, I actually ordered and tested two different towers side by side. The first was the one we carry now. The second was a massive pineapple-style tower with what felt like a hundred individual pieces, a real risk of damage during assembly, and a footprint that made it impractical for most homes.

The choice was easy after that. The system we carry set up quickly, actually worked as advertised, and fit into a real living space without taking over a room. That's the bar I held everything to — and it's how I'd encourage you to think about which size is right for you.

Start Here: Space and Output

Before picking a size, think about two things: where it's going to live, and how much food you actually want to grow. These systems aren't small — the reservoir base is nearly 2 feet wide and holds up to 5 gallons of water. They're best placed on the floor in a kitchen corner, against a wall in a living area, or in a dedicated growing spot. Keep that in mind as you read through the options below.

The Compact Grow System (5 Layer — 20 Plants)

At 1.75ft wide and 3.4ft tall, the Compact Grow System is the most approachable place to start. Twenty growing ports is genuinely enough to keep a steady rotation of herbs and leafy greens going — basil, cilantro, lettuce, arugula, mint — without feeling like you've taken on a project.

If you're new to hydroponic growing, have a smaller space, or just want to test the waters before committing to something bigger, this is where I'd point you. It's manageable, it produces real results, and it's easy to expand later if you want more capacity.

The Standard Grow System (7 Layer — 28 Plants)

This is our most popular system, and it earns that distinction.

At 4.4ft tall with 28 growing ports, the Standard Grow System hits the sweet spot between size and output. You can run a genuine variety of plants simultaneously — a few herb varieties alongside multiple greens — without the system feeling overwhelming to maintain. It fits naturally in most kitchen corners or living spaces without dominating the room.

If you cook regularly and want to meaningfully reduce what you're buying at the store, this is the one. It's also what I'd recommend if you're genuinely unsure which size to get — most people who start here are glad they didn't go smaller.

The Tall Grow System (9 Layer — 36 Plants)

The Tall Grow System is for people who want maximum output from a single system.

At 5.4ft tall with 36 growing ports, it's a real commitment — but the right one for the right household. If you cook a lot, have a family to feed, or just want a high-volume, continuous supply of fresh greens and herbs at home, this is the system that delivers. It replaces more grocery trips than the others, which means it pays for itself faster too.

Worth noting: at 5.4ft, make sure you have the floor space and ceiling clearance before ordering. It's a statement piece in the best way — but it does need room.

So — Which One?

Here's my simple breakdown:

— New to hydroponics, smaller space, or just getting started → Compact
— Cooking regularly, want real variety, most people → Standard
— High output, larger household, serious about growing → Tall

All three systems include everything you need to get your first harvest going — no subscriptions, no apps, no extra purchases required. And every system is compatible with the Greenly Grove Expansion Component if you want to add capacity down the road without starting over.

Still not sure? Reach out. I'm a real person and I'm happy to help you figure out what makes sense for your space.
